Pregnancy is simply amazing. Looking at my own kids (3 and 10 months), I am baffled that they were ever inside my belly for 9 months. It changes your life forever and that is one of the many reason I love documenting this journey.
On Saturday, Tami and Michael invited me over to their beautiful Boulder home near Chautauqua to capture this precious moment for them. As an interior designer, Tami’s home was a perfect backdrop. We also wondered over to Chautauqua to play around on the muddy trails.
I can’t wait to meet their little girl at the end of April for her first photo session. Keep me posted!

Bella was so sweet and so serious during our session. Can you believe those eyes? Blue as the ocean.

Inspired to make handmade Valentine’s Day cards for my kids, I designed a felt card and used embroidery to decorate it. Earlier this year, I refreshed my embroidery skills at Fancy Tiger in Denver, Colorado. If you love to sew, knit, and felt, Fancy Tiger is a must.
The two little pockets held tiny gifts like the felt rose barrettes. I found the pattern for the barrett on Purlbee, the blog for Purl Soho, an absolutely amazing yarn and fabric store in NYC.
Happy Valentine’s Day!

My resolutions list seems to get a little longer each year. As the photographer in my family, I also get the role of archivist and managing the plethora of images sitting on my computer. Resolution #5 is to make prints of my favorite photos and not just make 4×6 prints. You will be surprised that an 8×10 or bigger actually starts to look small after awhile.
For great printing quality, I recommend mpix.com. In addition to your basic prints, they do books and canvas prints. I also got a bunch of prints from Shutterfly over the holidays because they had a great deal. I was impressed by the quality as well.
Resolution #11 was to blog more about photography suggestions/tips to help. Come back soon.

I love photographing friends and Danielle was one of my very first friends in Boulder. A chatty cathy like myself and a lover of happy hour, we became fast friends over cheap wine. One of the many reasons I love D is her flexibility and williness to try and do just about anything. When I asked her to hike a snowy slope because the light and the view would be perfect, she did not hestitate. What a trooper at 35 weeks pregnant! I also love the fact that she is having her photos taken almost naked while Jake is wrapped up in a toasty blanket.
Can’t wait to meet Ella and to capture her in the early moments of her life. Hugs.

hiking in her uggs in the snow. such a good sport.

When we bought our home six years ago, we never thought Jen and Zach who live across the street would become such great friends. Talks over the fence quickly turned into late night scrabble games, hikes, attending our wedding in Vermont, vacations to Mexico, and holiday dinners. This holiday Jen and Zach welcomed baby Zia.
Welcome to the finca baby Zia.

I met up with this Boulder brood yesterday to capture their family in the last few days of 2009. For an hour, we explored the park from climbing trees and swinging. Cole and Luke could not have been any more handsome and easy to photograph.

8 weeks ago, I met Hilary at the Boulder theater for her maternity photo session. As music lovers, Hilary and Matt wanted their maternity photos at one of their favorite music venues. Bella came a little early which everyone was excited about it. On Sunday, I had the pleasure to meet her and was just the sweetest little bundle.
