Emily + Scott | Denver Engagement Session, Wash Park

Winter has rolled into Colorado again this afternoon. Luckily, I met up with Emily and Scott at Wash Park last Sunday for their engagement session and Colorado sunshine was bright and warm. Our furry companions, Bear and Cooper, were fun additions to the session.

Emily and Scott are planning a beautiful summer New Hampshire wedding in June. Her mom has been buying antiques to decorate the wedding and an old wooden boat will be driving Emily to the island for the ceremony. Doesn’t it sound like a fairytale? I just can’t wait.

Jill and Mike recently moved to Boulder from Brooklyn and wanted their engagement photos to show off the Boulder’s beauty. We had a great time up on Flagstaff and Chautauqua and braved the windy morning. Not only did we switch outfits (gotta love the match plaids) during the shoot, but expressions. Mike’s family has an funny face (see photo #3). During their family vacations, he and his siblings would try and sneak into other people’s photos with that face. Now it is a family tradition! I can only imagine the funny photos that will happen with this funny face at their wedding. It will pop up everywhere!

During the session Jill told me, “I never wanted an engagement session until I saw your photos.” This is one of the sweetest things anyone has said about my photography. Thanks for the wonderful compliment.

Boulder, CO Engagement photographer, Susie + Tom

Almost every afternoon, we have a thunder storm and this day was no exception. Susie, Tom, and I met on Pearl, Street to take their engagement portraits last week and we had about an hour of sunshine before the rain, thunder, and rainbow. Good thing for weather proof cameras because mine definitely got wet playing in the rain.

Thanks to The Face Lab for helping Susie with her make-up before the engagement session. She looked beautiful.

Can’t wait for your October wedding at the Oxford Hotel in Denver, CO. Looking forward to all the details you are planning and one being the invitations with Bird Dog Press. It is going to be amazing.

Kristin + Tim | Broomfield, CO Wedding Photographer

Kristin and Tim invited me to Standley Lake in Westminster for their engagement shoot. We had a blast wading through the tall grass and exploring the nooks of the park this morning before it got too hot.

A photo session is a two way street. As the photographer, I can art direct, pose, and encourage to a point and then the rest is up to you. You have to be willing to climb, bush wack, explore, and play to get the good shots. These guys did exactly this. There was a lot of bush wacking through the fields at Standley Lake at 8:30 am this morning with only big smiles on their faces. Thanks for being such good sports! Can’t wait for your September wedding at the Boulder Country Club.
