3 days old, 72 hours, 4, 320 minutes old. What a beautiful little nugget this boulder baby is. The whirling energy of Carina’s older siblings created a dynamic and spontaneous newborn portrait session. From authentic smiles and giggles to refusing to look at the camera despite how many fairy princess’ were flying around in my camera lens, I love the day in the life feeling of this newborn session.

What better gift for Mother’s Day than a lifestyle family portrait session? Celebrate your family with a fun active session that looks like it should belong in a magazine!

On April 29th, I will be doing outdoor mini sessions in Boulder. Your investment is $275 for the session and will have both morning and afternoon sessions available.

Each sessions is 30 minutes long and will include 2 4×6 prints, 2 5×7 prints, 2 8×10 prints, and 1 11×14 print.

Sitting at my kitchen table listening to the bluegrass station on Pandora, I am catching up on work during this amazing St.Patrick’s day afternoon before heading out for a run. The 70 degree day is calling my name! I need to get outside and enjoy the weather before the March snow arrives. Boo!

I wanted to share this great spring family session with you. We met at the Boulder Tea House and played around BMOCA. Malcolm and Sophie showed up in adorable outfits with great jumping energy for out shoot.

Thinking ahead to the next holiday, Valenetine’s Day, the Mackintosh family requested a Boulder urban shoot. As design creatives who own indiegraphic, a web/print/logo/icon/ui/development business, their visual style is fresh and unique both professionally and personally.

With a vision in mind, we created family photos with room for text for their Valentine’s Day cards. Dimples, an elf hood, innocent brown eyes, big toothy grins, and messy sibling hugs flooded my camera on Saturday.

My love of photography began with Henri Cartier-Bresson, Walker Evans, Helen Levitt and Margaret Burke-White to name a few. They inspired me capture real life as it happens to find the decisive moment. In the middle of Alice and Chloe’s portrait session, Isabelle strolled into the frame. Life happened and I love what happened.

Family is the definition holiday season. For me, I can loose track of the important things during the holiday season. I will blame it on the extra wine and cookies, a total sugar coma.

On Christmas day, I received an email from the Elliot family wanting to schedule a winter portrait session with grandparents, parents, brother, sister, and cousins. Here are a few from our Boulder winter wonderland.

The biggest compliment a photographer can received is to be hired again and again by the same family. When Kim was pregnant with with Sydney, I documented the start of their family in Boulder. So much as changed as Sydney is now 3 and is a big sister to her baby brother, Beckett, 7 weeks old.

I had a blast playing with Sydney making her photos. I helped her pick out her pretty pink outfit and we went from room to room jumping on bed, rolling around with her dog, and even unrolled the toilet paper in the bathroom.

On a business note, I have a personal goal to get 500 fans on my Facebook page. Starting in Janaury, I am going to be raffling off 25 handmade letterpress calendars created by Bird Dog Press and 10 $50 gift certificates for sessions. Once I reach my goal of 500 fans, I will raffle off a free session and all you have to do to enter is like my page. I will be traveling to New York City, Los Angeles, Georgian Bay, Vermont, New Hampshire in 2012 so just because you don’t live in Colorado doesn’t mean you can’t win. Share with friends and family far and wide! A million thank yous!

Lily | Boulder Holiday Portrait Sessions

It has been crazy crazy! Holiday season is here and I have not even started any shopping. I might be trouble at the stores next week.

This portrait was taken right after Thanksgiving. I think this will be the perfect present for everyone in Lily’s family this year. What do you think?

This photo session is about Moo and Doo’s legacy. Who is Moo and Doo you ask? They are two of the best Boulder grandparents I know. Three generations of Noffsingers were present here ranging from grandparent age to 8 weeks old. It was a super fun session, and one that will have even great meaning when the grandkids are grandparents themselves.
