Brian and Stacy own Dish, a delicious spot for breakfast or lunch on Pearl Street in Boulder, Colorado. It is yummy! Besides having a fabulous restaurant, they also have the cutest little boy, Toby, and Penny the puppy. We spent the early evening playing outside and exploring the open spaces of Boulder.

Last November, I photographed Keira and Joe’s intimate wedding at Dunton Hot Springs where I met Kristin and Matt. Five months pregnant, Kristin was very excited to meet this little guy who was due in April. Beckett arrived on 4-20-2010 and he has to be one of the sweetest little ones ever. There were no clothes involved in this shoot as we wanted to capture the beauty of his little baby body. This was one of those shoots where I could have stayed all day and made pictures.

During my trip to Santa Fe, I had the pleasure to photograph my old dear friends on Saturday morning. I have known Holly for 10 years now and we have many great Santa Fe memories together. She is one of those super fun girlfriends who is always up for anything. I so appreciate it that about her.

Meet her adorable kids. Charlie is Rosie’s big brother. He is a spicy one just like my 3 yr old so I have a soft spot for him. And Rosie is a little cherub and I just love her strawberry red hair.

Don’t you love Lily’s outfit! Personally, I think chuck taylors make an outfit and I just love the combo of the homemade bird dress from the Santa Fe farmer’s market with the chuck taylors. This shoot took place in the arroyo at St.John’s in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I just love the warm early evening light in New Mexico just like Georgia O’Keeffe and it stays light so late in Santa Fe because the Sangre de Cristo Moutains are in the east.

Can’t wait to see you all again soon!

Katie | Maternity Photography in Santa Fe, New Mexico

I met Katie in 2000 when we both worked at Outside. Back then our lives revolved around fresh powder and early morning trail running and now our lives revolve around our nap schedules and toddler music classes. Katie and I have been trying to schedule a family photography session in Santa Fe for awhile now. It all worked out this past weekend and it was goregous.

Katie is due at the end of June with number two and the maternity photography session started at Steve and Katie’s Santa Fe home capturing moments in the backyard with Gus, the chocolate lab. Then we explored the audubon center which is down Canyon Road. The dramatic New Mexican landscape with the fields of Chamisa, adobe walls, and rustic charm was beautiful to shoot. Can’t wait to go back.

I learned something new from Jake on Saturday at Wonderland Lake in Boulder, Colorado. The white smoke trail behind an airplane is called a contrail. I had totally forgotten the word “contrail”, but Jake was quick to teach me.

Jake did not stop smiling during the entire spring photography session. As the camera went up to my eye, his smile mimicked the cheshire cat. The words cheese, pizza, and ice cream would illicit even bigger smiles.

During Tami’s maternity session, I spied this gorgeous vintage scale in her kitchen and my mind immediately thought it would be prefect for Kendall’s newborn session. This is the second Boulder, Colorado newborn session in 2010 with a piece of vintage kitchen ware. I love it.

At just 10 days old, Kendall was already smiling for the camera. It was really too much.

It is true that April showers bring May flowers. Boulder is popping with color right now with green grass, flowers blooming, and trees coming alive again. Over the weekend, I had an amazing time with Hannah and her family capturing them in the spring time bloom.

Spring arrived again yesterday in Boulder, Colorado just after having snow on the ground on Thursday. Avery will turn three in May and will become a big sister in June was too much fun to photograph.

Can’t wait to meet the little sister in just six weeks.
