The biggest compliment a photographer can received is to be hired again and again by the same family. When Kim was pregnant with with Sydney, I documented the start of their family in Boulder. So much as changed as Sydney is now 3 and is a big sister to her baby brother, Beckett, 7 weeks old.

I had a blast playing with Sydney making her photos. I helped her pick out her pretty pink outfit and we went from room to room jumping on bed, rolling around with her dog, and even unrolled the toilet paper in the bathroom.

On a business note, I have a personal goal to get 500 fans on my Facebook page. Starting in Janaury, I am going to be raffling off 25 handmade letterpress calendars created by Bird Dog Press and 10 $50 gift certificates for sessions. Once I reach my goal of 500 fans, I will raffle off a free session and all you have to do to enter is like my page. I will be traveling to New York City, Los Angeles, Georgian Bay, Vermont, New Hampshire in 2012 so just because you don’t live in Colorado doesn’t mean you can’t win. Kate and I played field hockey together at Hanover High School in New Hampshire and probably knows more about me than most. One of my favorite memories is I went to my first concert with Kate to see the Rolling Stones at Foxborough. I even still have the t-shirt from the concert!

Not long ago, she moved to Longmont and 7 weeks ago Kate and Nikolai had a baby boy, Thacher. He is just the cutest little guy.

10 days old and Violet did not want to miss a thing during the photo shoot. Most little ones with a full belly will sleep most of the session allowing me to play. However, Violet was awake the entire session despite our many attempts to have her sleep. I loved her company and she was just about the sweetest little pea.

Mom and dad are also the proud parents of Lillabee, an amazing allergy friendly baking products. If you want to taste their goodies, stop by and say hi on Saturdays at the Boulder Farmer’s Market.

During Tami’s maternity session, I spied this gorgeous vintage scale in her kitchen and my mind immediately thought it would be prefect for Kendall’s newborn session. This is the second Boulder, Colorado newborn session in 2010 with a piece of vintage kitchen ware. I love it.

At just 10 days old, Kendall was already smiling for the camera. It was really too much.

I spent my Sunday afternoon with the Speer family in South Boulder. Baby Malcolm was such a super good little guy during his first photo shoot. Calm, mellow, and interested in who this new lady was with the big black box in front of her face. Before Malcolm came and life got really crazy with two kids, they renovated their kitchen with Jodi from Invironments who did an outstanding job. Jodi is amazing at creating the perfect space.

Anyone who loves Colorado beer is familiar with Avery beers. Well, this little one was named after the brewery…a great name and a great brewery.

Walking into the stephanie’s home, a boulder architect, I got so excited seeing the old white stove which belonged to her grandmother. You can’t create that family heritage and connection in a studio setting. This is why I love going to people’s homes and making environment lifestyle portraits. The portraits reflect the personality and style of the family.
