Spring mini-sessions for Mother’s Day | Boulder family photographer

What better gift for Mother’s Day than a lifestyle family portrait session? Celebrate your family with a fun active session that looks like it should belong in a magazine!

On April 29th, I will be doing outdoor mini sessions in Boulder. Your investment is $275 for the session and will have both morning and afternoon sessions available.

Each sessions is 30 minutes long and will include 2 4×6 prints, 2 5×7 prints, 2 8×10 prints, and 1 11×14 print.

1,825 days

1,825 days means my baby girl is 5 (she turned 5 back in November). Remembering life before kids is hard because it feels life really began 1,825 days ago. The little bean is now a ripping skier, a jokester, a twirling princess, a reader, a biker, and a lover of life.

For her 5th birthday party, we had an eco-themed party using all local products/businesses. Jeff Kagan and Paige, Madeleine’s two favorite singers, gave a concert at North Boulder Rec Center. Bird Dog Press designed the email card and all the printables. Tee and Cakes made the melt-in-your-mouth peanut butter and red velet cupcakes. Dish catered the great kid and adult friendly sandwiches. And the goodie bags were actually a reusable goodie bags made by Two+Two and came with carrot seeds to plant in your garden.

Thinking ahead to the next holiday, Valenetine’s Day, the Mackintosh family requested a Boulder urban shoot. As design creatives who own indiegraphic, a web/print/logo/icon/ui/development business, their visual style is fresh and unique both professionally and personally.

With a vision in mind, we created family photos with room for text for their Valentine’s Day cards. Dimples, an elf hood, innocent brown eyes, big toothy grins, and messy sibling hugs flooded my camera on Saturday.

My love of photography began with Henri Cartier-Bresson, Walker Evans, Helen Levitt and Margaret Burke-White to name a few. They inspired me capture real life as it happens to find the decisive moment. In the middle of Alice and Chloe’s portrait session, Isabelle strolled into the frame. Life happened and I love what happened.

Family is the definition holiday season. For me, I can loose track of the important things during the holiday season. I will blame it on the extra wine and cookies, a total sugar coma.

On Christmas day, I received an email from the Elliot family wanting to schedule a winter portrait session with grandparents, parents, brother, sister, and cousins. Here are a few from our Boulder winter wonderland.

It has been crazy crazy! Holiday season is here and I have not even started any shopping. I might be trouble at the stores next week.

This portrait was taken right after Thanksgiving. I think this will be the perfect present for everyone in Lily’s family this year. What do you think?

This photo session is about Moo and Doo’s legacy. Who is Moo and Doo you ask? They are two of the best Boulder grandparents I know. Three generations of Noffsingers were present here ranging from grandparent age to 8 weeks old. It was a super fun session, and one that will have even great meaning when the grandkids are grandparents themselves.

I love photos where the kids personalities jump out. The raw emotion of a 5 year can be uncontainable and I know this from personal experience. Anson’s energy during our Sunday morning shoot just incredible. Little Campbell was her own person too. There was no telling her what to do either. I just let the kids be kids and captured this family honestly and authentically.

Thanks for having me capture your family again this holiday season! Hope to do it again in 2012.

Mother nature has been friendly the last two weekends with warm temperatures, blue skies, and no wind. These are three key ingredients for a great outdoor family portrait session. Kim and Noah came out with Nell and Avery right before Thanksgiving and these two little ones have so much style. I just love their funky styles defining their personalities. So cute!

Little Miss Odessa | Boulder newborn photographer

Odessa is the sweetest little girl. Arriving at her session asleep, she woke up gracefully with a smile. Her little gummy smile brought us all to laughter during the portrait session.

P.S. If you are looking to doing your own family photo, I recommend heading outside on a warm afternoon around 2:00pm. The light is just perfect and it disappears around 4pm. Make sure to read up on your self-timer if you don’t already know how to use it. I would also recommend watching a few YouTube videos on editing your images.
