Mariah, 37 weeks |Denver, Co Maternity Photographer

I love it when a good friend asks me to photograph them. Mariah and Derek are some of my first friends in Colorado and they are expecting a little girl in just a few weeks. Our plans changed a little bit due to an afternoon thunderstorm and ate dinner first at Protos, my favorite.

After a delicious pizza, we headed out to capture their expanding family. Linus and Jasper were all too curious to what was going on with their parents.

If I can recommend one thing to do before the baby arrives, it is spoil yourself. Go out to dinner, get your toes painted, and see lots of movies!

During Tami’s maternity session, I spied this gorgeous vintage scale in her kitchen and my mind immediately thought it would be prefect for Kendall’s newborn session. This is the second Boulder, Colorado newborn session in 2010 with a piece of vintage kitchen ware. I love it.

At just 10 days old, Kendall was already smiling for the camera. It was really too much.

Spring arrived again yesterday in Boulder, Colorado just after having snow on the ground on Thursday. Avery will turn three in May and will become a big sister in June was too much fun to photograph.

Can’t wait to meet the little sister in just six weeks.

Marilee is an outstanding photographer in Lyons, Colorado and she is expecting her first baby in May. Being a photographer, she knew what she wanted and found the perfect meadow in Lyons minus the cacti. I loved how she wore Dan’s white button down shirt.

Alicia looked gorgeous at 37 weeks. Over the course of an hour, we moved furniture around, took art work off the walls, and made several outfit changes to make these photos. It was really fun to play and create.

Taking the time to capture this moment is something you will never regret because you will miss your belly once it is gone.

Spring photography sessions | Boulder Baby and Family Photography

It has been a cold snowy winter and the longer spring days are finally here! Celebrate your family this spring with a fun outdoor photography session. Think of it more like a play date for you and your family.

Mother’s Day is right around the corner and this is a perfect gift for every mom. Who doesn’t desire beautiful photos of your family. When is the last time you had a professional portrait of you and husband together? Maybe your wedding? Forward this email to your husband and get a gift that will last a lifetime.

Date: April 24 and 25

Where: Wonderland Lake, Boulder

Time: The sessions will be 30 minutes long and you should choose a time your kids are happiest. Because all sessions are shot using available light, it is preferable to schedule sessions in the early morning or later part of the evening.

Cost: $150
This includes: the 30 minute session, 10-15 edited images in a custom online gallery.
1 11×14, 2 8×10, 2 5×7 prints of your choice.
Session fee is due at booking.

What to wear: After booking your session, you will receive a complete guide on what to wear for your session. I will also include a list of my favorite places to shop.

Boulder Maternity Photography

Pregnancy is simply amazing. Looking at my own kids (3 and 10 months), I am baffled that they were ever inside my belly for 9 months. It changes your life forever and that is one of the many reason I love documenting this journey.

On Saturday, Tami and Michael invited me over to their beautiful Boulder home near Chautauqua to capture this precious moment for them. As an interior designer, Tami’s home was a perfect backdrop. We also wondered over to Chautauqua to play around on the muddy trails.

I can’t wait to meet their little girl at the end of April for her first photo session. Keep me posted!

I love photographing friends and Danielle was one of my very first friends in Boulder. A chatty cathy like myself and a lover of happy hour, we became fast friends over cheap wine. One of the many reasons I love D is her flexibility and williness to try and do just about anything. When I asked her to hike a snowy slope because the light and the view would be perfect, she did not hestitate. What a trooper at 35 weeks pregnant! I also love the fact that she is having her photos taken almost naked while Jake is wrapped up in a toasty blanket.

Can’t wait to meet Ella and to capture her in the early moments of her life. Hugs.

8 weeks ago, I met Hilary at the Boulder theater for her maternity photo session. As music lovers, Hilary and Matt wanted their maternity photos at one of their favorite music venues. Bella came a little early which everyone was excited about it. On Sunday, I had the pleasure to meet her and was just the sweetest little bundle.

Anyone who loves Colorado beer is familiar with Avery beers. Well, this little one was named after the brewery…a great name and a great brewery.

Walking into the stephanie’s home, a boulder architect, I got so excited seeing the old white stove which belonged to her grandmother. You can’t create that family heritage and connection in a studio setting. This is why I love going to people’s homes and making environment lifestyle portraits. The portraits reflect the personality and style of the family.
